If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Non-pocket MFA people that are gaining access to the event through my substack (or Blake's or Lauren's) do not need to do anything different in the application process.
The Residencies typically punctuate the cohorts. So either you just completed a cohort or they may have opened a few segments to interested writers/applicants… ( @Blake Bell?)
But this is it’s own thing! Happening around the same time. It’s for full-length MS and you’ll want to apply to it specifically. I hope this helps!
Love this! Sounds like you have to have a completed manuscript? Not just a book proposal + sample chapters ready to go?
Sometimes for nonfiction a proposal and sample chapters will do, but anything else will need to be a full manuscript. Is your (ms) nonfiction?
Yes, it’s non-fiction, so I haven’t written the whole thing yet.
A proposal is fine for NF :)
Awesome! So I would do a few lines in the pitch, and cross my fingers someone would request the proposal?
That’s correct ✅
Thank you!

I’m doing the April residency. Is this part of it or a different event?
Hi Melanie :)

Yes, thank you. I’m already into MFA but I will apply to this, too. Thanks!
I hope it goes well for you! And happy to have you as a fellow PocketMFA-er. I love the work they're doing.
Yep they did offer residency access to applicants! Happy to see you there @Melanie Cole!
