Welcome Early Readers

As I share more private works-in-progress, like the shaping a book before it’s realized on the shelf, I’m grateful to have you here. It means alot to be able to share the highs and lows of artistic endeavors; but please know there is no pressure to keep up with every chapter or respond to everything. This is simply an open door into the process, and you can step in whenever it feels right. For those who do feel moved to share a reaction, note, question, or critique, please know how much I value it. Your thoughts are helping me see the work more clearly. I currently have a few queries out, but I plan to begin my second round of querying after I receive feedback on these opening chapters. And when this book finds its publishing home, I’ll be honored to acknowledge the early readers who were part of its becoming.

The Pitch

Seventeen-year-old SolĆØne Vale has less than a year left in her body.

In the sealed city of New United, death is rebranded as failure. Citizens are promised eternal life via a state-mandated process that transfers human consciousness into synthetic bodies called Frames. But when the Tricouncil abruptly lowers the mandatory transfer age from thirty-three to eighteen, citing a deteriorating resources, SOLƈNE faces an impossible choice: become a Breeder in exchange for a few more years in her Primal body, or abandon a system that values her womb over her will. Meanwhile, SolĆØne’s older sister CASS, whose status is scandalized by her lack of interest in men, is forced through one of the first accelerated jumps, and comes back...almost herself. As SolĆØne’s own Jump approaches, she uncovers a devastating truth, the Tricouncil may not be human at all, and their tactics may be less about preserving humanity, and more about preserving an AI model set in motion centuries ago.
